PROJECT #7b: Motion Blur, Part. 2 (The List)

RATIONALE:  To make the same photo TWICE at two different shutter speeds to capture TWO DIFFERENT amounts of intentional motion blur.

DIRECTIONS
1. Make photos for each of the subjects on the list below.
2. Photograph each subject TWICE...at different shutter speeds.
2. Record the shutter speed for EACH photo.

Remember: you are making TWO photographs of EACH subject.

The point is to capture TWO different amounts of motion blur.

CAMERA SETTINGS:
*Just as in Part 1, slow your shutter speed to a fraction of a second (1/60, 1/30...

**If you have a DSLR camera, set the camera to w/an "S" setting.
This is called "SHUTTER PRIORITY."
Set the shutter speed to your desired setting, and the camera should adjust the other settings automatically.

PROJECT #7: MOTION BLUR, Pt. 1

RATIONALE:
To explore MANUAL functions of a camera, and gain control of camera settings.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Download (if needed, and you are able to) one of the following apps:

645 PRO Mk III

2. Slow your shutter speed to a fraction of a second (1/60, 1/30, 1/8...)
3. Make 5+ images where your subject matter is MOVING.

CAMERA MOVEMENT:
1. Panning - you move the camera in the same direction as your subject.
2. Still - the camera is still but your subject is moving.

THE GOAL:
To make images that have subject matter that is in motion blur while ALSO containing something that is NOT BLURRED.

We need to be able to rest our eye ON SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BLURRED.

Note: If you have a DSLR camera w/an "S" setting...set it to that "S" setting. Choose the shutter speed you want. (This is called "SHUTTER PRIORITY," and the camera will adjust the other settings automatically.)

For tomorrow - and if possible - please download a 'shutter speed app' for your phone.

If you have an Android phone, you may already have shutter speed control

It will look like fractions, or simply list a range of denominators

MOST IMPORTANT FOR OUR NEEDS: An app that allows you to change the SHUTTER speed.
